The Holy Spirit
Slide 2
“To walk in the Spirit - not to walk in the flesh - is the whole secret of the believer’s life of power, privilege, and peace. But for the believer to walk in the Spirit, the first essential is his absolute yielding to God of all control and direction of his life.”

Jesus’ Dependence on the Holy Spirit
John 5:19
“The Son can do nothing of his own accord”
Philippians 2:5-8
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, existing in the form of God,
did not consider equality with God
something to be grasped*
7 but emptied Himself,
taking the form of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross.
*Grasped = something to be exploited

“I do not follow Him [Jesus] because it feels good. I do not follow him because he provides bread or water or escape, but because He asks me to follow him. It must be that way. We sign the bottom of the contract. He fills the top.”
(The Pleasure of His Company)
Heb. 12:2 - “for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Holy Spirit helps us focus on the Eternal

Romans 8:9-11
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is LIFE because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead DWELLS IN YOU, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to YOUR mortal bodies through His Spirit WHO DWELLS IN YOU.
Allow the Holy Spirit to release the Kingdom of God through your life
