CLF 2024 Corporate Prayer and Fasting

Christian Life Fellowship (CLF) was established on a foundation of prayer. In fact, our church began as an in-home prayer meeting and to this day prayer remains as a key element to the kingdom culture of our local body. As a church family, we are called to be a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13) and a people faithful to continually humble themselves and seek God’s face (2 Chronicles 7:14).

In obedience to God’s Word, throughout the year we host Monday night prayer meetings for all who can attend and have groups of intercessors praying daily over specific needs. Every year we also dedicate the month of October for corporate prayer and fasting—this is a time where members across the body unite to humble themselves and offer petitions on behalf of one another, our region, the nation, and for other churches/nations God has connected us to. This season is also for personal and corporate consecration, intentionally presenting ourselves before the Lord for holy service, sanctification, and empowerment—our goal is not the religious act of prayer and/or self-denial, but to align our motives, hearts, and lives with the will of God as we seek Jesus’ glory in the earth (Isaiah 54).

This year our CLF Corporate Prayer and Fasting will be conducted in a few weekly phases:
October 1 - October 5: Daily prayer focus related to the church body
October 6 -October 12: Daily prayer focus related to “Remnant” Fall Conference.
October 29 -November 4: Daily prayer focus related to the US state/federal elections.

DAILY PRAYER FOCUS

*DAY 14 - IN PERSON CORPORATE PRAYER AS PART OF OUR SUNDAY SERVICE
*DAY 15 – IN PERSON CORPORATE PRAYER AT MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER TO
END OUR FAST.

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS TIME OF SEEKING GOD.
WE ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR TRANSFORMATION IN EVERY WAY, AND AN
IMPARTATION OF HIS SPIRIT TO LIVE AS REMNANTS IN THIS HOUR, FOR HIS
GLORY.
MAY OUR LIVES NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!

FASTING 101 PREPARING FOR A FAST
- Seek God for specific areas you need to pray into.
- Seek medical advice as needed if you have health concerns.
Commit to completing the fast, and invite your family and friends to participate.
- This helps with accountability.
Clean out your fridge, pantry etc of all foods that could be a temptation.

HOW TO FAST

- Biblically, fasting is abstinence from food and/or water for a prescribed amount of time. We will be fasting for 14 days. An example of a daily fast could be fasting from
6AM – 6PM and eating an evening meal. You could choose to fast for 14 days on a water only fast. You could also choose to do a Daniel fast or fast your favorite foods.
How you decide to fast is a personal choice between you and God. The key is that your fast is sacrificial.

DURING THE FAST

- Set aside time daily to pray & seek God
- Pray in the Spirit daily
- Set aside time daily to read and meditate on God’s word
- If you break you fast prematurely, start over and keep going
- Drink plenty of water
- Sleep well
- Eliminate or reduce distractions such as social media, news, movies etc

BREAKING YOUR FAST

- It is best to break fasting, with prayer, worship, thanksgiving, and communion.
- Slowly, build back up eating regularly over a few days. Don’t come off a fast with a heavy meal. Your body needs to readjust.
