Old Testament Prophets – Home work research assignment
The Purpose: of this assignment is to allow you to research, study and visually diagram the history of Israel and place each king, Prophet, and Major event, under the nation and Ruling World Power of the day. This should allow you to forever have a mental picture of the Old Testament Prophets lives and enable you to tell others with ease their stories. This will also allow you to better understand the words of the prophets as you read to understand them.
Assignment is Due for Grade April 24th, 2002. at the beginning of Class. You cannot pass OT Prophets with out having correctly completed this assignment.
You will lay this out on a large poster board so that it is easy to follow and understand. You will need to type info and paste on to the board if you cannot write it or print it in a legible manner. If I cannot read it you will fail this assignment.
Assignment:
Research out the information over the Nation of Israel from its beginning days of King Saul to the days of the 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testament.
So you will make a chart starting with King Saul and the prophets that served in his day and place them at the top of your board then it will go to The next King, prophets that served him and then his son and the prophets if nay that served him. Then you will show the splitting Kingdoms by name, You will list the following in a diagram manner:

Ruling Empire
List the kings that served under this empire with
The Major events of Israel in this time frame under their reign You will use this same formula
& The prophets that served each king for both kingdoms (North & South)
Next Ruling Empire You will record all history of both
Kingdoms.

You will need to show the placing of the world powers and which nation the influenced and list the correct information and kings and Prophets and events under the right nations reign in the order they happened.
(Egypt, Phoenicia, Syria, Assyria, Babylon, Persia)
(Nathan, Gad, Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Abijah, and the 16 Major & Minor prophets)
Need to show when they nations went into captivity and what nation took them in Exile.
You will need to show the time frame of the bible on a separate chart below the graph were the prophets lives fell into.
Example: King Saul & David & the Prophet Samuel in (Samuel & Chronicles)
Haggai – time frame of the books of Ezra and Nehemiah
