What is the Answer For My Life?
“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me!”
John 14:6
God Himself came to earth as a human being to bring us back to Himself. There was no other way to atone for sin and the fall of man than the shedding of blood. Jesus shed His blood on the cross because He loved us and that we might have life.
But God demonstrated His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Romans 5:8-9
The Way is a person. That person is Jesus Christ. Only through Him can our problem of sin and death be taken care of.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all.
1 Timothy 2:5
God had already mad the first step. He made a way where there was no way, by sending His only Son. Now He is waiting for each of us to accept what He has done for us.
What does God want me to do and
How do I receive all that He has done for me?
____________ that God has not been first place in your life and ask Him to forgive your sins.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9
____________ that Jesus died to pay for your sins and that He rose again and is alive today as Lord over all.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other Name(Jesus) under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
_____________ God’s free gift of salvation. Don’t try to earn it.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
_____________ Jesus Christ to come into your life and become the Lord (director) of your life.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His Name, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12-13
This verse depicts clearly how saving faith is both the act of a single instant and an on going attitude of a life-time. The word “received” denotes a definite past act of faith, while the word “believe” is in the present tense. A continual action on the part of the believer throughout life. In order for one to finally be saved, true faith must continue after the initial act of receiving Jesus.
But Christ was faithful as a Son over His house, whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end .-Hebrews 3:6
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end. -Hebrews 3:14
Because lawlessness is increased, most peoples love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. -Matthew 24:12-13
It is important to note that John never uses the noun “Belief” yet he uses the verb “Believe” _______ times. For John, saving faith is an activity, something that people do. True faith is not a static belief and trust in Jesus and His redeeming work, but a loving, self abandoning commitment that constantly draws one near to Him as Lord and Savior.
Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25
Not only does Jesus want to save us, but He wants to be the Lord completely of our lives. He knows what is best for us and that we can do nothing apart from Him. We must give our entire lives and all that we own to Him and let Him guide and direct us.
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
Jesus gave up everything for us and we should give up everything for Him. He wants disciples, who make disciples. Those that will lay down their lives for Him alone and for His sake.
Disciple : A ____________, one who receives or professes to receive instructions from another.
A ____________, an adherent to the doctrines and principles of another.
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
Matthew 16:24-25
Now large crowds were going along with Him; and He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”
Luke 14:25-27
The word “Hate” in does not mean that we hate these people. Jesus is speaking of people and things that He knows are very important to us and He is saying, “If there is anything or any person who is more important to you than Me, yeas and even your own life, you cannot be My disciple.”
Jesus did not save us so we could just go to heaven, but that we be a part of seeing a people arise that are the people of God, who step into the destiny that God has for them and that they accomplish all that He has ordained from the beginning of the world.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. God therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
To be the disciples that Jesus wants us to be, we must die to all that we are, all we believe, all we have, and take up that which He is and all that He came for.
How does Jesus deal with my past and present life of sin?
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished on us .-Ephesians 1:7
But now in Christ Jesus, you who were once far away, have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself, one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. -Ephesians 2:13-16
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. -Colossians 2:13-14
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. -1 Peter 2:24
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. -2 Corinthians 5:21
But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. -1 John 1:7
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9
He laid Himself on a cross and shed His blood that we might have sin removed from us and that we might have everlasting life.
How do I know that I have received Jesus? What does the word of God say?
These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15
We must believe in the “Name of the Son of God.”
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar and that truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he abides in Him, ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. 1 John 2:3-6
We can have assurance of eternal life if we diligently and sincerely obey Him and all that He has commanded
If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.
1 John 2:29
Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:7-10
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 1 John 3:14
We have assurance of eternal life if we habitually and persistently practice righteousness rather than sin. Also we know because we love our brothers and sisters.
We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
1 John 3:24
By this we know that we abide in Him and He is us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
1 John 4:13
We have assurance of eternal life by the evidence of the Spirit of God.
How do I stay saved?
Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but much more in my absence, work out (cultivate, carry out the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ.) (Not in you own strength) for it is God who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you, the power and desire), both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
Philippians 2:12-13
Ampl. Bible
Remember that being saved is not just a one time shot. It is a life time of continually believing in the Lord, constantly going back to Him and working out that which He has put in.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confessing of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful, and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:19-25
Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “today” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end.
Hebrews 3:12-14
We must keep giving ourselves to God and to the body of believers. Keeping our eyes on Jesus and allowing others to keep us accountable.
