Healing the Broken Hearted: Truths on Forgiveness
Forgiveness is not optional. As a child of God you NEED to forgive others:
- It is in the nature and redemptive plan of God to forgive humanity; as children, we must reflect His nature.
- As an act of faith and in accordance with the principals of sowing and reaping, God’s children are to continually practice forgiving others
- Forgiveness is the willful act of releasing those who have sinned against us; in forgiving others, we release the individual from owing us anything and free them from being obligated to us in accordance with their sin.
- Forgiveness DOES NOT:
a. Justify or excuse sinful behavior.
b. Result in or require automatic reconciliation of relationships.
c. Dismiss the need for maintaining clear, healthy boundaries as necessary.
