Healing from Generational Influences – Step 1: Identification
Complete a Genogram or other tool to create a family tree:

A) Complete up to the 4th generation of your ancestors, if possible.
 If needed, ask other family members for information and insights.
B) Using the checklists of patterns (page 2), write each behavior next to the associated family member.
 Note, some patterns may be obvious (e.g., anger/violence). Some will require you to ask the Holy Spirit (i.e., fear, insecurity, hidden motives). / Do not worry about what you do not know—the Lord will reveal what you need to know, and what He reveals
He will bring healing to.

Prayer for Healing from Generational Influences, Sins, & Curses

Heavenly Father, I come before You today acknowledging that Jesus Christ came to grant us absolute freedom. I thank You for Your grace, Your mercy, and Your power to redeem my life and my family line.

Lord, I humbly confess all habitual sins, addictions, brokenness, or negative patterns that have passed down through my bloodline [name every sin identified in detail and repent for each one].

Lord, I recognize the generational strongholds that have held my family captive, and I ask for Your forgiveness for the ways my ancestors and I have given the enemy a foothold.
By the authority I have in Jesus Christ and through the power of His shed blood, I break every generational curse, ungodly tie, and cycle of sin that has plagued my family. I declare that these chains have no legal right to hold me or my descendants. I state today that this cycle stops with me.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind, my will, my emotions, and my physical body. I sever myself from the iniquities of the past and ask that Your Holy Spirit fill every empty space in my life. Heal the wounds and damages caused by these generational spirits and transform me into a new creation.

Lord, I claim Your promise that “’if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” I step into the abundant life You have for me. Fill my heart with Your truth, and guide my future steps as I walk in victory.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray.

Amen
